Pineau de Re: From Grand National Glory to a Peaceful Retirement

Pineau de Re, born on May 8, 2003, is a French-bred racehorse who made history by winning the 2014 Grand National at Aintree. After a promising start in National Hunt Flat races, his breakthrough came in the 2013 Ulster Grand National, where he won by 23 lengths. Purchased by owner John Provan and trained by Dr. Richard Newland, Pineau de Re triumphed at Aintree in 2014, winning the Grand National at 25/1 odds. He continued racing until 2016, even winning another race post-Aintree, a rare achievement.
