Changes in a horse’s everyday routine can mean a great deal to the person who knows them best. For Fanny and Hanna, those changes have included more comfortable grooming for Champagne and new hair growth in a sensitive area for Diamanten.

Champagne: More Relaxed at Grooming Time
At 19, Champagne is enjoying a new chapter. The experienced show jumper now takes part in dressage, continuing to learn and lead an active life with his owner, Fanny.
Since taking him on just over a year ago, Fanny had noticed that brushing a particular part of his belly could cause a strong reaction. The sensitive spot was toward the back of his abdomen, on the lower right side.
Champagne would sometimes stamp a foot or become irritable when she brushed there. On occasion, he would lift his right hind leg toward his belly, clearly showing that he was uncomfortable.
Fanny added EquiNectar to his feed in June. After he had been receiving the full dose for a month, she noticed that grooming this area had become a different experience.
“Now I can brush that area without him reacting. He enjoys being brushed there just as much as he enjoys having the rest of his body groomed,” she explains.
Being able to brush Champagne without that familiar reaction has been a welcome change for Fanny. He now stands relaxed and enjoys attention in an area that previously seemed uncomfortable.
EquiNectar has also brought a lovely shine to Champagne’s coat.
Diamanten: Encouraging Signs of Coat Regrowth
For Hanna, the change she has noticed in her 18-year-old Connemara mare, Diamanten, is visible in her coat.
Diamanten has a history of sensitivity to insects and tends to scratch when they are particularly active. One area above a front hoof has been a recurring concern.
“She has an existing problem area on her skin, just above one of her front hooves, which can become irritated from time to time,” Hanna explains.
During these episodes, the skin can become crusty and develop small sores, making the spot especially sensitive.
Hanna introduced EquiNectar into Diamanten’s diet around two months before sharing her update. Over the following month, she began noticing more hair growing back over the affected area, with the coverage becoming visibly fuller.
For an owner familiar with that recurring sensitive spot, even a modest improvement is encouraging. Hanna was pleased to see the hair returning and the skin appearing to be in better condition.
